Engraving

There has never been a substitute for quality. The unsurpassed elegance of genuine engraving makes it the most distinctive of the graphic arts processes. Imperial's experieced craftsman engrave each piece of stationery from a custom-made die. Each die is individually crafted of either copper or steel.

The engraving die is created by cutting a reverse of the image to be reproduced into metal. Ink is then applied to the surface of the die, then wiped clean, leaving only the recessed image filled with ink. The paper is then pressed against the die with considerable pressure leaving the impression elevated from the surface of the paper.

Since engraving is not a heat process, it works well with last printers and copy
machines. The overall appearance of a firm's stationery is vital in the image it
presents. Therefore it is important to have then finest engraved stationery.
